RAM, or Random Access Memory, is a form of computer data storage, which allows the data to be read randomly without accessing the preceding bytes before that. That makes the RAM considerably faster than other kinds of storage devices such as DVDs or HDDs where all of the information must be read to be able to access certain info. When you have a shared hosting account, the amount of memory your web programs can use cannot be fixed and may frequently depend on the free memory which is available on the physical server. With a standalone hosting server, however, there is always a minimum amount of physical memory that shall be at your disposal at all times and will not be allotted to other customers even when it's not being used. This is valid with our virtual and dedicated web servers.
